We thought these were hand signs. Then we read the names.

A raised finger, a Star Trek reference, then a family car: this meme knows how to escalate. Here are all seven names from the image, with our thoroughly unscientific commentary.

The Teaser

The trailer lasts three hours. The film might come out eventually.

The Pleaser

The only one who read the instructions and filled in the satisfaction survey.

The Shocker

Named by someone who has never encountered the word ‘subtlety’.

The Spocker

When your Star Trek reference takes a turn the Federation did not anticipate.

The Rocker

All that’s missing is a guitar and a neighbour banging on the ceiling.

The Show Stopper

The show stops. Even the lighting technician wants an explanation.

The Mini Van

We started with a hand sign and ended with seven seats, a boot and comprehensive insurance.

The real mystery is still the minivan. Who approved that name in a meeting? We hope there were at least pastries.
